Super Saturday at Hurstpierpoint was a huge success. We set up the day to celebrate the club and the strides we are making, including the start of our Reserve side.
We attracted a good crowd for both games; the fronts playing Montpellier Villa Reserves and our Reserves playing Cuckfield Rangers Development side.
The 1sts won 3-2 uncomfortably. Jake Godfrey scored the opener. After half time Olly Lambert quickly doubled our lead before Villa hit back. Lambert then finished another chance to make it 3-1 before a nervy finish was set up as the Brighton side scored their second with 10 minutes to go. Tom Ward was given the MOM accolade.
The 2nds played their first competitive game at Fairfield against the very young Cuckfield Dev’ side. Bas Robinson scored from close range with his head on the half hour mark-his first Hurstpierpoint goal helping him receive his first MOM award. Cuckfield equalised just before half time with a good finish. The second half was uneventful, with a very equal share of possession. The notable event being the cameo appearance for Hurstpierpoint legend Jamie Dunne.
Thank you to all who helped out on the day and to those who came to support, from everyone at Hurstpierpoint FC.
