Our firsts beat Championship side Barcombe 4-3 this afternoon to progress to the next round of Mowatt cup.
Hurst were chasing the game in the first half going 1-0 down very early on. Playing downhill, Tom Ward carved out half a chance to equalise quickly.
Barcombe went in front again 15 minutes later and again a half chance for Tom Ward led to a goal straight from corresponding kick off. 2-2 half time.
Defending the more difficult end Hurst kept it tight and eventually went in front thanks to MOM Tom Ward, who’s third successful shot of the day went in off the post.
Sam Hayter came on for his first team debut and made an immediate impact-playing the ball through the defenders legs and curling an effort into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Barcombe scored one more from a corner but Hurst held on to progress.
