The 1sts went Cherry lane looking for the win to keep in contention with the other teams top of the table.
The starting line up didn’t include Eddy Bartram for the first time this season-Lambert welcomed the chance to play with the armband and it was he who opened the scoring after two minutes, tapping in a Luke Martin cross.
Luca D’Alessio got his first of the season, five minutes later with a neat finish into the bottom right.
Luke Martin’s barron spell without a goal ended after twenty minutes with a typically powerful effort past the keeper.
Lambert doubled his tally and Martin followed suit before the half. 5-0.
Hurst looked to kill the game off quickly after the restart and thought they had done so when Ward carried on his fine form with a scrappy finish. Furnace Green, however, found a glimmer of hope when the Hurst defence didn’t deal with a long throw and Dean Cornwall’s clean sheet was gone on his first team debut.
The Rover’s captain then saw red for a two footed challenge on Stefano Guagione leaving the debutant too injured to continue.
A very poor fifteen minutes led to two more goals for ten man Rovers before Luke Martin completed his hat trick and Tom Ward arrowed a strike into the top corner.
MOM was shared between Luke Martin and Will Maltby; for his professional box to box display.
