Hurstpierpoint have reached the final of the Edgar German cup for a second season in a row convincingly beating a depleted Ansty side.
Manager Dudley Christensen decided to go back to last season’s 4-2-3-1 for this semi final clash. With Maltby still out injured Shaun Jepson partnered Bartram in the centre of midfield in a shock move that paid off.
Luca D’Alessio began the scoring early on – his initial shot saved but he was on hand to side foot into the open net with his right after ten minutes.
Luke Martin then grabbed his brace; finishing both chances from the left hand side of the box in typical Luke Martin fashion.
Ansty showed very little going forward, Martin Smith keeping clean gloves for the first half.
The Blue Dogs kept the pressure on after the restart and were rewarded when Ed Bartram hit a clearance back into the box and up into the roof of the net to make it 4-0.
Martin Smith made a save low to his left from a long tang effort and Hurst kept their clean sheet.
Man Of The Match: Ed Bartram.
