We’re not too sure exactly when, but post-COVID football will kick off at some point in the (hopefully) not too distant future. And in preparation for when it does, we are looking to recruit a new Reserve Team Manager (Mid Sussex Div 4 South). So, for anybody interested in getting involved with a sociable, village football club, here is a bit of information about us and the role.
The first thing you’re probably wondering is: “What happened to your old Reserve Team Manager?” Don’t worry, it’s nothing sinister. Olly Lambert led the side last season in a Player-Manager capacity. It’s a tricky one to juggle, and Olly will still be around to help out next season, but would ideally like to ‘play’ more than ‘manage’.
We’ll spare you the club history (for now), but here are three headlines detailing how we run the club:
Good People Ethos
Some might refer to this as a ‘no idiots’ policy, but the club is built on social foundations with ‘good people’ at the top of our priority list. Ultimately, we want a club full of people that you want to spend time with on a Saturday, and that runs through our committee, management and players.
‘One Club’ Structure
It might sound an obvious one, but we know it’s not always the case. Our 1st Team and Reserve Team management work as one across the club, with one squad, training together, socials together etc.
Youth Player Pathway
One of our Reserve Team objectives is to give our Youth Team players a taste of adult football. We’ve had, and continue to have, some very talented young players at the club. And with an Under 18 side linking us to Hurstpierpoint Colts, who operate from Under 6 upwards, the conveyor belt of local footballers will keep on rolling.

Our requirements are simple: Passion and commitment. You will need to be organised, and an understanding of the game, tactics and man management is useful. You don’t need loads of qualifications, or a black book full of ex-pro players.
